A 9,000-year vote of confidence

On 31 December 1759, Arthur Guinness signed a 9,000-year lease on St. James’s Gate in Dublin. The harp followed on bottle labels in 1862. But the Draught we know today came later: it launched in 1959, two centuries after that extraordinary commitment.

The Guinness story

The science behind the smoothness

Brewer Michael Ash helped transform Guinness with nitrogen. It creates the distinctive cascade and fine, creamy head. The innovation continued inside Draught cans: their widget releases nitrogen when opened, bringing that familiar surge into the glass.

Start with how you serve: a regular draught line, individual cans and bottles, or a countertop system. Then compare the pack sizes in our range.

Draught on tap

Our catalogue includes 20-litre and 30-litre Guinness Draught kegs. Plan around your expected throughput and have your dispense specialist confirm the right Guinness setup for your bar.

MicroDraught

This countertop system uses an air pump and dedicated cans to dispense Guinness without traditional kegs, beer lines or gas cylinders. It is particularly useful for hotels and bars without space for another permanent line.

For hotel buyers

A Guinness tap without another permanent beer line.

MicroDraught can add a proper two-part Guinness pour to a lobby bar, restaurant, rooftop or event space where another keg and beer line do not fit. Guinness says the system is intended for licensed venues of different sizes and setups.

In a design-led or five-star hotel, the compact unit can also be placed on a service counter, in the backbar or in the kitchen when the operating layout allows it. Staff pour away from the guest-facing bar, keeping the front bar visually quiet and free of another branded tower.

The Guinness serve

Give the pour its moment

Guinness Draught combines roasted notes with hints of coffee and chocolate. Its famous dark colour is actually ruby red. At the bar, the two-part pour finishes the presentation.

  1. Pour at 45°Use a clean, dry glass. Tilt it and fill to roughly three-quarters.
  2. Let it settleSet the glass upright and allow the cascade to settle.
  3. Finish the pintTop up to form the characteristic creamy head.

The alcohol-free choice

Guinness 0.0

Guinness 0.0 is brewed before its alcohol is removed by cold filtration. The result keeps the dark appearance, creamy head and roasted character at 0.0% ABV.

Give it a clear place on your drinks menu so guests looking for an alcohol-free stout can find it easily. Green Acres lists 24 × 44 cl cans.

The lager in the family

Hop House 13

Named after a former hop store at St. James’s Gate, Hop House 13 is a golden lager with hop aromas and hints of peach and apricot. It gives your Guinness selection a different flavour direction alongside stout.

Our catalogue includes a 30-litre keg for venues considering it for their lager line.

Ideas for your menu

Take the conversation beyond the pint

Our menu suggestions: try Guinness Draught alongside a grilled beef burger, a savoury pie or a dark chocolate dessert. Taste the combinations with your team before choosing your house pairing.

A simple pairing line gives staff a useful starting point when a guest asks what to drink with dinner. For cooking inspiration, Guinness also publishes its own recipes.

Good questions before you order

Can a Draught can be poured like a pint from the tap?

The can has its own method: chill it thoroughly, then pour into a clean glass in one smooth action and let it settle. The two-part tap instructions above apply to draught service. Follow the guidance for your specific pack.
